Mr Christopher West is a fully accredited UK trained plastic surgeon who is on the GMC specialist register for plastic surgery. He has a busy private practice based in York and Leeds where he provides all aspects of cosmetic surgery, with a particular interest in facial plastic surgery and advanced deep plane facelift techniques.

He is a full member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetics Surgeons (BAPRAS), a full member of the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) and a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeon of England (RCS).

He is a consultant plastic surgeon within the NHS at Leeds Teaching Hospitals where his specialist interests are complex limb reconstruction, sarcoma surgery and microsurgery, and he recently featured in the BBC series ‘Saving Lives in Leeds”. Chris studied medicine at the University of Sheffield and qualified as a doctor in 2004 with a 1st Class Honours in Medical Science. He performed his Basic Surgical Training in Yorkshire, before moving to Edinburgh to complete his higher surgical training in plastic surgery. He returned to Leeds in 2019 to complete a further fellowship in sarcoma, lower limb reconstruction and microsurgery, and was subsequently appointed as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Leeds Teaching Hospitals.

Throughout his career, Chris has been involved in research. During his training he was awarded a PhD from the University of Edinburgh for his international prize-winning research on stem cells within fat, and their regenerative potential. His work received multiple prizes from The British Association of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and the European Association of Plastic Surgeons. Based on his research, Mr West routinely uses fat grafting and fat transfer as part of his approach to total facial rejuvenation to restore youthful volume during facial plastic surgery and facelifts. He has written multiple book chapters, published widely in the scientific and surgical literature and presented his work globally.
